from our family to yours

Welcome y’all! We are so happy that you are taking time out of your busy schedule to reconnect with your family and nature, right here on our land.

Our family purchased this land dreaming of a way to escape the fast pace of life and get back to our roots. Way back in 1923, my great-grandfather, William Franklin Slover, (aka Rattlesnake Bill), purchased some land up in the panhandle of Texas. His son, Billie Ray, was my grandfather; and both of those wonderful men passed on a love of their beautiful, red panhandle dirt to my mama and to me. Out of those roots grew a passion for the outdoors, which led to buying this land close to my own home in DFW and share it with other families like yours! When we toured Comanche Moon we knew this was the spot for us, and we can’t wait to share it with you and your friends. My Nana and Papaw would welcome you with open arms to their farmland, and we welcome you to our little slice of solitude here on Comanche Moon.

God has so richly blessed us and we are committed to giving back to others. 15% of every dollar earned at Slover Ranch goes back into our community in the form of charitable donations helping children in our community.

For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

Psalm 50:10

While you’re here, you’re family!

Stay at Barabara’s Place, Faye’s Ridge or Billy Ray’s Pond and you have access to all the Comanche Moon amenities, including pickle ball, the lake and shooting range. There is wildlife every where you look and memories to be made!

FAQs

  • Sunscreen, towels, snacks, bug spray and plenty of water. If you forget something, not to worry as there are two convenience stores off the I-20 Exit.

  • Cowgirls and Cowboys know to always be on the lookout while exploring. We have seen porcupines, the fattest skunk I have ever laid eyes on, and some mean ole rattlesnakes! Yes! Just like there are sharks in the ocean there are rattlesnakes and copperheads at the ranch, so always be aware of your surroundings.

  • Maybe. We recommend printing out a copy of our land map here, so you can navigate if needed. Our ranchette sites are marked on the map and signage will let you know which of the three properties you’re on if you purchase camping privileges.

  • No rifles allowed.

Be a good neighbor to our neighbors and don’t mess with Texas! That means no littering and make sure to take out anything you bring onto the land.

This is a family friendly environment so leave the rowdiness and loud music at home.

  • Day passes are good for one car load per day, but we do have a limited number of passes available, so invite friends to purchase a pass and bring their family too!

  • Click the purchase package link above to choose either a day pass or camp site package and pay for your choice of packages. You will then be directed to sign our rental contract and liability release form. Once payment is made and forms are signed you will receive an email with detailed directions to the property and a gate code unique to your party purchase. When you arrive at the land you will enter your code and it will be good for one car in and out privileges from sunup to sundown or overnight codes for campers.
